Government is the problem! Vote out politicians making it worse!

Crime, taxes, inflation are too damn high! Why is the City cutting our services and charging us to welcome more migrants? Cops, businesses and people are leaving! $112 Billion city budget is unsustainable! Vote Republican or Conservative Novermber 7, 2023!

Rent froze for 1 and 2-year lease renewal: Who lost?

council16 hours ago16 hours ago01 mins

Mayor Mamdani appointed six appointees to the nine member board: Chantella Mitchell, Chair; Sina Sinai, Public Member; Lauren Melodia, Public Member; Brandon Mancilla, Public Member; Maksim Wynn, Owner Member; and Adán Soltren, Tenant Member.

At the June 25 vote, the board voted 7 to 1 in favor of rent freeze for both one-year (2015, 2016 and 2020) and two-year lease for the first time ever!

What do you think will happen to the quality of housing stock? Cost of maintenance for repairs, gas and electric could not be zero’ed out. Less rent stabilized tenants would leave poorly maintained properties. Will market rent go down?
