A parent at South Richmond Hill’s PS161 said her child’s middle school is zoned on the other side of Van Wyck at Jamaica. It would be closer and safer if she could place her in Hawtree Creek at Rockaway Boulevard or Elizabeth Blackwell on 101 Avenue.
Why is there no middle school in Richmond Hill? Why not let parents choose a closer school even if it is in a different zone?
